In Prince Frederick you will also find the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp, one of the northernmost stands of bald cypress trees in North America. The park is open year-round except on Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. At this writing, admission is free. When you visit the park you can experience the majestic quality of the cypress trees and the tranquility of the swamp from a short boardwalk trail. Additionally, exhibits at the park give you an interactive look at local wildlife and the cultural history of the area.
